Founded in 1987 in North Carolina, Medical Modalities supplies home medical equipment to patients throughout the southeastern United States. Medical Modalities (MMI) offers wound care, electrotherapy and orthopedic equipment to expedite patients’ rehabilitative needs. We specialize in technologically Corporate advanced orthopedic and physical therapy equipment, with the aim of helping our patients avoid invasive procedures. MMI is committed to providing specialty medical solutions that will promote faster healing and enable independence in our patients.

HydroAire3The HydroAire Generation II AFT bed, built by Aurora Mfg, is designed to alleviate patients suffering from the most difficult non-healing stage-3 or -4 pressure ulcers. Air fluidized therapy is considered the ‘gold standard’ of pressure-relieving surfaces. The HydroAire AFT bed uses this technology to reduce interface pressure by allowing patients to immerse themselves into the bed’s fluidizing ceramic beads. Other advantages to this second generation bed include reduced noise levels, room heat buildup, and electricity costs.

Medical Modalities is the exclusive distributor of the HydroAire Gen II AFT bed and has a nationwide network of partners dedicated to its delivery in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and homes.

FDA and Certification of the HydroAire Gen II™ AFT Bed
Aurora Mfg. is registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a medical device manufacturer and specification developer. The HydroAire Gen II AFT bed is also registered with the FDA and has been certified by TUV Rheinland with certification 60601-1, allowing it to be used in hospital environments. In addition, the HydroAire Gen II is registered and approved by SADMERC to be billed to Medicare recipients in their homes.
