Northern Hills Veterinary Clinic, formerly Johnson, Jones, and Ireland, is a full service facility located in Sturgis, Sout​h Dakota. The services that are available for your animal family members include orthopedics, ultrasound, echocardiograms, reproduction, dentistry and in-house laboratory for diagnostics and full service surgery.
We currently have 2 great locations to serve needs. Our Small Animal Clinic at 713 Anna Street and our Large Animal Clinic at 751 Pine View Drive; both in Sturgis, SD . We'd be delighted to meet you and your animal family members.
Meet our Doctors:
Dr. Margie Jones spends her "free time" perfecting her dressage moves on several of her horses. From April to August you can find Dr. Jones at our equine breeding facility. The rest of the year she is at our small animal facility. Her areas of interest are soft tissue surgery, dermatology and dentistry.
Dr. Ken Ireland graduated from Iowa State University and has been practicing veterinary medicine for 3 decades. His professional interests are cardiology and internal medicine. When not at work he enjoys spending time with his wife Cindy and watching his daughter Brooke and son Beau run college track. He also enjoys staying fit, camping, boating and vacationing in the tropics.
Dr. Cammack graduated from Iowa State University in 2001 and is a native of Meade County. He and his wife Jeannie and their 4 children reside in Sturgis. His professional interest is large animal medicine. When not working (which is NOT very often) he enjoys spending time with his family and attending his children's activities.
Dr. Lance Serbousek is one of our newest veterinarians. He graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2015, and is native of Kansas City. Before Dr. Lance started here as a veterinarian he spent many summers helping out at the clinic. His professional interests are small animal orthopedics and neurology. When not working, Dr. Lance spends his time with his wife Natalie as they are an active couple enjoying the outdoors by mountain biking, trail running, snowboarding, cross fit, as well as water sports at the lake.
Dr. Porter was raised on a small cow-calf operation near Geddes, SD. She graduated from Iowa State University in 2018. Upon graduation, Jenny married her husband, Aaron, and promptly moved down to Texas, where she completed an equine internship at Elgin Equine Veterinary Hospital. Her hobbies include riding horses, working cattle, ranching and spending time with family and friends. She is also happy anytime she can spend time with her horses; her dog, Patches; or her potbelly pig, Hereford. She has a strong interest in all categories of equine practice, but also enjoys many aspects of the cattle industry.
New to the practice is Dr. Jackie Martin. More to come....

Go north off I-90 at Exit 32 to Anna Street (.4 miles). Take a right (east) on Anna Street. Go approximately 1 block and the Clinic is on the left (north).
LARGE ANIMAL CLINIC - 751 Pine View Drive Sturgis, SD 57785. 605-347-3606 ext 2.
Go south off I-90 at Exit 32 to Pine View Drive, (.7 miles). Take a right (west) on Pine View Drive. Go approximately 1 block and the Clinic is on the right (north).
