Owner Marie Branch decided 5 years ago to make her vision and dream a reality and open her very own restaurant! Inspired by the words of Ms. Oprah Winfrey, Marie began the process of opening her own business. However, this process was derailed momentarily. When the Patterson Park Community Development Corp. went bankrupt, vaporizing her down payment on a former bakery near the Patterson Park library, she picked herself up, dusted herself off and started all over again.”I have never seen a penny of my money again,” she says, “but you can’t let that stop you.”

And she didn't let this major setback stop her from achieving her dream. She found another former bakery on Elliott Street, scrubbed and rehabbed it with the help of family who are in the business and in January 2011, opened her very own business! Marie Branch is just an example of a person who doesn't stay down for very long! Her favorite quote is something simple yet powerful- "Do not let anything or anybody stop you from achieving your dreams in life"!
