Hoboken is part of the New York metropolitan area and is the site of Hoboken Terminal, a major transportation hub. As of the 2020 United States census, the city's population was 60,419, an increase of 10,414 +20.8% from the 2010 census count of 50,005, which in turn reflected an increase of 11,428 +29.6% from the 38,577 counted in the 2000 census.
