Wilmington is a port city in New Hanover County, in southeastern North Carolina, United States; it is also the county seat. With a population of 115,451 as of the 2020 census, it is also the eighth-most populous city in the state and the principal city of the Wilmington, NC, Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties.
